IT: Yolanda Be Cool Strike Again With Catchy ‘Switch’

Celebrating ADE 2019, one of dance music’s most prestigious industry events, Solardo and their Solä label have assembled a weighty 14 track compilation consisting of established talent and rising producers alike. Spanning multiple realms from tech house to disco infusions, the Solä ADE 2019 compilation represents Solä’s core musical values that have resonated on the scene since it’s very first release back in 2015.

And the Australian duo Yolanda Be Cool, aka Bondi boys Andy and Matt, take part in the compilation with their long-awaited ‘Switch’. Earlier in the year, they released their House anthem ‘Space Jam’, and after a small pause filled with amazing concerts and a crazy season filled with House, the boys are back at it. They moves into grooving house territories with ‘Switch’, boasting monstrous breakdowns set for peak time club play. Sure thing, its heavy techno-infused sounds and house rhythm are set to take over every chart and dance floor in the world.

More than a review, we had a chance to meet the boys for an exclusive Interview, about their release ‘Switch’, discuss music, secret plans, and more.

Hey guys, thanks for your time! Let’s begin with yourself, can you tell us a bit more about Yolanda Be Cool?

Sure. We are a couple of guys from Bondi who have been lucky enough to be dj’ing and writing music together since 2005 ouch hahaha. I’m now mostly LA based and Andy mostly Sydney based but we get to meet in awesome spots all around the world including Amsterdam very soon. Life’s great.

After catchy tracks like ‘Space Jam’ or your ‘Body Funk’ remix, you’ve made a great impression with the just-out ‘Switch’ on Solä. What’s your recipe to cook these treats, any inspirations?

We basically just try to write the biggest tracks in our sets. That’s the goal anyways….if we feel like we need a big tune to get the crowd going and that happens to be something we’ve been working on…then that’s our sign that it’s worth releasing.

Following your inspirations, any artist you would love to work with?

Mele’ def one of our favourite producers right now. As is Chris Lake. We have a couple of collabs coming with some of our favs too so stay tuned for them 🙂

What can we expect for the rest of the year, do you have some secret plans to share with us?

Hahah well see above. We have now our new tune – Switch – just released last week on Solardo’s label Sola. That was one that has passed the “is it good enough to release test” for us so we were stoked to have it find such a great home as we are big fans of Solardo and they are also very fun to be around.

Pumped for the Sweat It Out party at ADE which is in a crane… sounds incredible and from what I’ve been told… it’s really something special. Then looking forward to some Aussie shows over summer there.

Quick bonus-question, what makes a good party for Yolanda Be Cool?

The people and the sound. If the people are up for it and the vibe is right and then the sound is amazing and the location incredible… what could go wrong. So lets just say… an open bar, a clifftop overlooking a beautiful beach and 1000 lovely people and a void soundsystem. Sold 🙂
