Aside from the DJ Mag, Reddit and Billboard annual lists, the popular tracklist website 1001tracklists just revealed its Top 101 Producers for 2019, crowning David Guetta this year’s top producer.
Garnering more and more attention over the years, this ranking “reflects the cumulative amount of unique DJ support for tracks played from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019”, according to 1001Tracklists. The ranking system, instead, is different from the annual DJ Mag poll. It’s automatically generated accordingly to the number of an artist’s track has been played across radio shows, performances, mixes and more. In practice, this method evaluates how many time one track has been played.
On the first spot, David Guetta leads the ranking with 1721 support thanks also to his Jack Back alias; he is rapidly followed by Tiesto and Skrillex. On the 4th spot, Axtone’s head honcho Axwell follows with 1564 supports. Also, we can find in the ranking Camelphat (9th), FISHER (20th), David Penn (35th), MERCER (37th) and Mark Knight on the 47th. Interesting entries for this year (among the 30) are for sure Eli Brown (44th), Purple Disco Machine at the 64th, Offaiah at the 57th, Cristoph, Gorgon City, Kolsch, and MK between 80 and 100.
This year, the award for DJ who climbed the most spots goes to Holland DJ Jack Wins, who managed to climb 62 spots. On the other side, Luca Debonaire, also from the same country, managed to drop 83 spots.
