Jafunk & DiRTY RADiO Deliver Funky Gem ‘The Baddest’

He who has heard the names of Jafunk and DiRTY RADiO together before knows that they mean business. Having already teamed up on ‘Pleasures’, the Aussie — but Berlin-based — producer and Canadian band are now back to serve up another masterpiece, a laid-back and disco infused single named ‘The Baddest’.

Listen 'The Baddest' :

Catchy drums, mesmerizing retro-tinted synths and a rubbery, vibrant bassline are balanced harmoniously against the funkiest DiRTY RADiO performance. Nothing but unique, ‘The Baddest’ is a record that draws on myriad of influences, from Funk & Soul, Classic Jafunk formula, to a synthesis of dance, R&B and electronic music that, as always, push the Vancouver-based duo above the rest; having labelled the DiRTY RADiO moniker on iconic labels as Spinnin’, Partyfine or Majestic Casual.

About the track, Jafunk details :The beat for ‘The Baddest’ was inspired by a lot of the disco and boogie funk I was listening to at the time, artists such as Michael Jackson, Rick James, Charlie Wilson, Kashif, as well modern influences like Pomo, Anderson Paak, Mac Miller and more”.

He pursues: “We went back and forth online with DR. Since we had never met in real life, it created an interesting dynamic. You send some feedback to the other guy, and when they send you an email back with the music it’s like opening a little present”.
