IT: Electronic Duo One Bit Unveils New Remix On Positiva

Platinum selling electronic duo, One Bit are back with another exceptional remix of their latest single ‘Back To You’, this time teaming up with emerging artist The Last Indigo, out now via Positiva Records.

London based musician, The Last Indigo combines his contagious distinctive sound to create a heart-pounding UK house track. The Last Indigo previously remixed Will Young’s latest track ‘My Love’. ‘Back To You’ features the powerhouse vocal of Grammy nominated songwriter and singer Laura White.

Since its release, ‘Back To You’ was MistaJam’s ‘Self Certified’ track on his BBC Radio 1 show; and was added into various playlists on Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music. ‘Back To You’ uses the iconic melodies of classic dance tune “Anthem” by N Joi, which gives a fresh dose of 90s rave nostalgia. One Bit recently shared the dazzling official video for ‘Back To You’ you can watch it now.

For the release of The Last Indigo’s remix, we took time with Jonty Howard and Joe Murphy from One Bit to talk music, future plans, and more.. All is just below!

Hey guys, such a pleasure to have you ! So, could you introduce One Bit in a few words ?

Hey, we’re One Bit, a producer duo from London and we make inclusive dance music that hopefully you’ll want to sing along to!

We’ve just picked your last gem ‘Back To You’, recently remixed by The Last Indigo. Could you share an anecdote about it ?

So we started playing with remaking the classic sample from Njoi’s Anthem for the intro, it was actually the last ever session we did in our old studio before moving to London. When we came to mixing the record we realised that we actually only ever recorded 3 takes of the vocal, so the vocals that are on it are the vocals from our writing session! Laura is insanely talented like that!

You’re always experimenting new sounds. Is it important for you not to stick in just one genre?

We do a lot of songwriting & producing for other artists so we’re often working in different genres which means there’s this constant stream of new sounds & influences which end up making their way into our own work. So when we put a track out as One Bit it’s more what feels right to us than trying to mirror our previous releases.

Now that you have unveiled ‘Back To You’ and its remixes, what is in store now for One Bit fans ?

Over the years there’s so much music we’ve made for One Bit that at some point soon will be unleashed as body of work… But for now expect a new single around the end of the year, a bunch of remixes and a lot of ridiculous photos on Instagram.

Finally, can you share five records that you can’t get enough of right now ?

Petit Biscuit – We Were Young
Dominic Fike – 3 Nights
Icarus – Sirens
Preditah – Animals
KC Lights – SOL
