[Interview] Klingande Hypnotises In Album’ Hint ‘Messiah’

Ahead of the release of his eagerly-awaited debut double album, The Album, acclaimed French DJ and producer Klingande has revealed his brand-new single ‘Messiah’, featuring English singer-songwriter duo BRIGHT SPARKS.

‘Messiah’ flaunts a diverse blend of electronic and pop elements. Stepping away from his notable upbeat productions, the Frenchman’s new single flaunts a slower tempo with guitar riffs, a reserved kick drum underpinning BRIGHT SPARKS’ evocative vocal performance.

Accomplished artists in their own right, BRIGHT SPARKS have previously worked with high-profile DJs such as Hardwell, Sam Feldt and Feder – boasting over 150 million streams and even a collaboration with dance godfather, Tiësto. Their summer smash, ‘On My Way’ has already surpassed a whopping 85 million Spotify streams and gained worldwide airplay support.

‘Messiah’ will feature on Klingande’s upcoming debut double album The Album. Set for release at the end of this year, The Album will be comprised of two sides, with CD1 featuring brand-new productions including previous offerings ‘Sinner’ with Stevie Appleton, ‘Ready For Love’ with Joe Killington & Greg Zlap and ‘By The River’ feat. Jamie N Commons. CD2 will be filled with the French producer’s previous hits, including the multi-platinum selling single ‘Jubel’, ‘RIVA’, ‘Pumped Up’ and ‘Wonders’.

For the release of this brand-new single, Sidekick Music had the chance to meet Klingande for an exclusive interview, with a few questions about ‘Messiah’, his upcoming album, future plans & more…

Hey Cédric, such a pleasure to have you ! First of all, can you tell us more about Klingande?

Hey! Happy to chat with you! Klingande is my artist name, since 2013. I’m a DJ and producer, doing some deep/melodic house music. My most known song is ‘Jubel’ and I’ve released a few other singles since then. Now working on my first album coming out this fall.

You’ve just released ‘Messiah’ recently with Bright Sparks, catchy title ! What’s the story behind it ?

Yes, this is a very special one for me on many levels. Actually this song came to me through our teams, I wasn’t in direct contact with Bright Sparks back then. The first time I heard the track I loved it and I knew I could do something cool with it. I spent some time in studio in Ibiza last year and amongst other songs I worked on this one. I love it because I made something a little bit different from my other sounds, I felt some freedom when I was working on it, freedom to explore new musical universe and to surprise my audience. I love the result and I’m happy to see it out!

What can we expect of your upcoming debut album – named ‘The Album’ – next month, do you have some exclusives to share with us?

I worked a lot on this because I wanted each song to be special and very good. There are various influences, from my roots in deep and melodic house, to more pop influences. You’ll have some Violin and Saxophone back. The other songs I released this year are a good example of what you’ll find in the album. It’s really exciting!

What are next month’s highlights for you, maybe touring plans?

I’ll be focusing on this album release; I also have the pleasure to play with Bakermat at Amsterdam Dance Event in October. I also have a live tour in France in November.. A lot of things to keep busy!!

Last but not least, what single night out has been the most memorable for you as a DJ? As an attendee?

Wow I have a lot of memories, but as an attendee it’s when I saw Flume live for the first time. I’m a big fan of him since his beginnings, and it’s probably one of the best shows I’ve seen!
