Watch : Swedish House Mafia In Depth Interview With Zane Lowe For Apple Music

The Swedish House Mafia just released their new album ‘Paradise Again’. It was the occasion for them to give a long interview of one hour at the Zane Lowe show via Apple Music. Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello have indeed landed in this famous room, known for numerous music videos and movies, for a long introspection on their comeback process.

This interview tackles a large amounts of questions everyone has been wanting to know, with many surprise reveals and revelations. Learning fisrtly about how they met, we find that it was completely organic, and about how their comeback came quite naturally and that it seemed like a no-brainer. A very interesting part of the interview talks about the fact that when they split up in 2013, the three Swedes were not ready to focus 100% on the SHM project, that they also wanted to get involved in their personal project, their label, etc. Now they were ready to put 1000% into it.

Concerning the new album, the first thing they did was agree on the artistic direction of the project, ignoring the “rave vs. radio” debate and simply going into the studio without any expectations or restrictions.

In the rest of the interview, the three Swedes talk about the history of each track. For example, ‘Don’t Go Mad’ was named that way because they got angry trying to perfect it.

The conversation with Zane Lowe ends with a mention of Fred Again . who co-produced “Calling On” and a confirmation that another collaboration is about to be released on Fred Again’s album.
