KOWL is the moniker of producer Cal Young, his music has been described as “Disco-Tinged House”. Landing somewhere between Indie Dance and Disco, he regularly calls his sound “Beach House House”. It’s a style centered around rhythm that incorporates modular influence with tropical tendencies. While combing real instrumentation with analog synth and electronic production, he frequently records an array of live guitar, saxophone, flute and more on his original mixes. These mixes, along with his original remixes and bootlegs, make up a portion of his live DJ Set.

Earlier this year, KOWL released his 3-song EP, Thirty-Two. One of the singles, “That’s Dope”, received support from a variety of blogs online including placement inside of Kris Santiago & La Blu’s Pleasure Voyage Mix and regional radio play on Australia’s triple j Unearthed.
