According to the new Billboard report, Spotify just began testing adding personalized song selections to its curated playlists.
This new program will work with algorithmic song selections, similarly to Discover Weekly or Release Radar playlists, on a limited number of users for now. The objective is to better match listener’s preferences with his personal taste, as said a Spotify spokesperson in a statement:
"We are always testing new ways to create better listening experiences for more users, while also finding ways for users to discover more music"
Today, the test is only applied on Beast Mode, Chill Hits, Dance Party, and Metal Ballads playlists, and will not be used on the most popular playlists, such as Today’s Top Hits or RapCaviar.
