LMA, from his first name Maël, exchanged his place on the school benches for that on the stage of concert halls very early. With an innate talent for writing, he won the Claude Nougaro writing prize at just 16 years old. Maël is an artist with a fine, refined and distinct pen. Flirting nonchalantly in his music with rap, chanson and pop, he was revealed during the opening acts of Vald and Hervé. After this revelation, LMA made several television appearances. Seen on France TV, in the show Culture Box, he will also be revealed on France Bleu.
Today LMA unveils his new track ‘Libre’ and it’s promising! This impacting track with Funk/Nu Disco sounds combines groove and current French rap. Accompanied by his musicians and especially by Daoud and his trumpet, they are inspired by the jazzy atmosphere of Ibrahim Maalouf.
Listen To 'Libre' :
Maël, delivers some words about this track:
“Libre is a track that refers to my American influences, to rappers like Mac Miller and Isaiah or producers like Kaytranada. I wanted to make a groovy and danceable track, while talking about quite personal subjects. It is this contrast that I found interesting. We invited Daoud who came to bring the final touch with his trumpet, the little dose of sunshine that was missing.”
A few words about LMA:
LMA is a complete artist who is inspired by talents like Mac Miller, Stromae or Odezenne. With his own imprint, he will quickly stand out and prove himself in Occitania. In three years, LMA delivers a series of EPs with ‘Sonatine’ (2020), ’31e Chambre’ (2021) and ‘Mauvaises Fréquentations’ (2021). Unique musical imprint but also distinct visual identity, he also delivers a series of videos “capsules” which accumulates, to date, tens of thousands of views on its social networks.
LMA is a young talent with a lot of potential, who will not stop there. On his way, LMA announces a new album planned for 2023. ‘Libre’, which release on November 25, is a thrilling foretaste.
