Sylvain Armand Breaks ‘Silence’ With Melodic Rework

Released on September 6th from Sylvain Armand, a new signing to RCA, is the essential sound of ‘Silence’. Currently based in Stockholm and dazzling on the DJ circuit whilst honing his productions, Armand has already opened for Swedish House Mafia in Ibiza on their one and only reunion show in 2019, before that opening for Axwell & Ingrosso and David Guetta on repeat occasions at Ushuaia and touring the UK with Alesso. In 2017/18, Armand remixed an array of high profile artists including Robin Schulz and James Blunt’s ‘OK’, Axwell & Ingrosso’s ‘Dreamer’, David Guetta ft. SIA’s ‘Flames’, as well as ‘Tequila’ from Dan & Shay and ‘Is That For Me’ by Alesso & Anitta.

Making his debut on the label, this reworking of the seminal dance classic sits alongside a lyric video – with a remix bundle set to drop sometime after the original.

The likes of Alesso, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Kryder and Morten have already played out ‘Silence’, with its instantly memorable vocal hook cutting through a neatly rhythmical beat and refreshed melodic flow.

Sylvain Armand talks through the record and his thoughts on remaking a classic, saying:  “Silence was one of the first dance records I fell in love with. I promised myself I would do everything possible during my career to be able to rework that song. But having so much respect for the original, I said I wouldn’t do it until I found the perfect singer. And then I met Carl Falk and Dhani Lenevald, who introduced me to Sofia Karlberg. The first second we got in the studio, I knew it was her”.

Karlberg broke through with her stunning YouTube covers, gaining over 300 million views and counting, and makes the perfect addition to this must-hear release from the French producer.
