Rising Duo Fika Unveils Electro-Groove Piece ‘Love Funk’

Friday 6th September saw fika release “love funk”, a laid back, electro-groove track written about the start of a romantic relationship. It explores the narrative of the insecurities we face when finding a new love interest -“What are they thinking?”, “Have I blown it?”, “Do they like me…?”.

With their music described as combining the styles of Frank Ocean, John Mayer and Tom Misch, they strive to mix great songwriting with soulful music, blending R&B, soul, jazz and hip-hop. After releasing a handful of singles over the last 6 months, gaining BBC 1xtra coverage and landing on several Spotify editorial playlists, fika have a 2 part EP series coming out over the next 6 months, co-produced with Fabich. They also have a remix EP coming out early 2020 plus throwing out a few collaborations & singles throughout the year and early next.
